Whoop 5/MG issues and how to get them addressed

People here are a good source of support that will help when they can

Good to know. I’ll remember that.

put the link of the post you did about HRV issues. I’ll take a look.

Not worth the time. HRV was stuck at the same value for 5 days. In 193 consecutive days it was never the same. HR and RHR updated correctly those same days. HRV is derived from HR data. After many emails someone finally looked at the data stream coming from my device and said it was fine (which I would expect because HR data was good and updating). I think this was a server side problem where HRV simply wasn’t calculated…. for whatever reason. I am not all that concerned with the actual HRV numbers. I just look at the trend. But, HRV also affects the Whoop recovery number… so being ā€œstuckā€ affected recoveries on those days.

After the fifth day HRV started calculating again. I am over the problem and the call center’s inability to explain it and their ridiculous suggestions.

Yup these are the frustrating things I see. The app is updated with issues all the time, less so now but in my early days sometimes you’d get two app updates in a day. Change or fix something, break something else. Seems better now or maybe I am not looking at Whoop as much so not seeing the problems. Lost a lot of faith in the device and app.

I agree. It appears that app updates (and new firmwares) aren’t beta tested adequately. They also seem oblivious to the connectivity and Bluetooth problems I see on a regular basis.

Maybe we will get lucky and they will be acquired and get a huge investment in the product line and staff.

I am looking at alternatives. I have Garmin, Oura (years) and Amazfit (Recently), Using apps like Sonar($49 a year) and Bevel (Free) to bring Whoop like charts and datasets by aggregating the data from all my devices is my way forward sadly. Not sure the Whoop device is up to the task.

support surely isn’t.
