Whoop 5.0 MG stopped working after 6 hours - no green or blue light even after charging

My MG stopped working and lost Connection a few hours after the firmware update today. I am not able to wake it up or put it in pairing mode again. I tried the recommended Steps for Troubleshooting but nothing helps. Hopefully Support can find a quick solution

Hi everyone,

My WHOOP 5.0 is completely unresponsive. There are no green or blue LEDs, and the battery pack doesn’t show any red or green light either.

I’ve tried different USB-C cables and power sources, cleaned the contacts, and followed the recovery steps from support, but nothing works. The device doesn’t show up in the app either.

Has anyone faced this before? Any advice?

Thanks!

Same issue with my MG. All of a sudden lost Connection and nothing is working to get it back to life. No Blue or Green lights. Also tried everything from the Whoop website but it doesnt work. Reached out to the support but since my response to the AI answer i haven‘t heard something from the support team.

Hey everyone,

It seems like this issue is happening to several people, especially with the WHOOP 5.0.

There really needs to be a clear solution or at least a detailed explanation of what’s causing it.

If the problem can’t be fixed, I strongly recommend contacting support to get a replacement.

I was in exactly the same position. I’ve received by replacement MG, but it too is playing up - missing large chunks of HR data, resulting in missing sleep/train/recovery scores. Considering regressing back to the spare 5.0 I didn’t ask for as this whole service has been more or less useless for two weeks.

I cannot stress how truly angry I am about this device and this process.

It’s bad enough that I was charged an upgrade fee even though Whoops motto and promises for the last couple of years were no upgrade fees.

Now I’m shipped a faulty device? They’re really showing their uses where to shove their loyalty.

My Whoop 5.0 MD is dead… it won’t charge at all, even with a fully charged battery pack.

My device seems to have died. Have two batteries and have tried to charge the whoop with both all day yesterday. However no lights are flashing or showing on the device. No green light. Trying to repair but no blue light either. Device just seems to have died a death. Can’t get hold of anyone from whoop either. Have tried everything - any solutions?

Hey man, I have that same problem. I got my whoop 5.0 yesterday and today i wakeup with dead sensor. I never had that problem with 4.0. I made everything to try repair it and nothing helps me.

Hi. Similar issue here. Just got the Whoop 5 and paired it. I then did a firmware update check where it successfully updated it. After a little while, I checked the app and it had lost connection. I tried all the steps to reestablish connection with no luck. It’s dead and the sensor lights don’t come on and tapping it does not go into pairing mode.

Frustrating as I’d just cleant and packed/sealed my Whoop 4 into the gifting pack. I’ve raised a support request. Hopefully they send out a replacement asap.

Not impressed with the Whoop 5 so far.

Exactly the same situation for me, little more then one week use and the device is dead, totally dead. Customer support seams to be off and not the fastest replays.

Hi,
I was fortunate that Whoop support responded the next day and said they would send a replacement out. They asked me to send the faulty Whoop back by return postage paid and extended my membership by a week as I had already packed my old Whoop 4 to regift.

So I dont have a Whoop at the moment and waiting for my replacement. I hope that does not fail too.

Hi @irinmainiac @Kuba91 @Scheldon @MrColdmountain @cosmonele, thanks for writing in. I’m going to pass on your info to our Membership Services team so that they can take a look.

I opened a ticket this morning but no one has come back to me yet.

Seems to be an issue - my new 5.0 lasted 1 day… fortunate to have not gifted my old one away yet - no word from member services yet about replacement, but it sounds like they are fixing others promptly with replacement sensor…

Hi, I have the same issue. My whoop died, and now I can’t charge it. I tried charging it with the battery pack multiple times, but the device doesn’t seem to be charging. The only thing that happens is that the battery pack flickers with a red LED light, but no response from the device. I’ve also created my ticket in search of some help from the Support Team

The same thing happened to me this morning at around 10:30 am. this is my thrid day with the device.
