I just got the new MG, but the band that came with it is defective (the clasp keeping opening and becomes detached). Anyone else have this problem?
Sounds like the clasp on your WHOOP MG band isn’t staying closed and keeps coming loose. That can happen if the clasp is defective or if the fit isn’t quite right. Here’s what to check:
- Make sure the Fast Link™ Slider clicks securely into place.
- Adjust the band so it’s snug. Not too tight, not too loose.
- Confirm the band is sitting properly on your wrist, with the sensor flush against your skin.
If it’s still popping open after that, there’s a good chance it’s a defect. We’ve seen similar reports, and faulty bands may be eligible for replacement.
Snap a couple of photos of the band and clasp showing the issue, include your purchase info, and reach out to WHOOP Support. They’ll help you get it sorted.
Thanks. It’s definitely a faulty band (I’ve had a Whoop for a while now and just upgraded from the 4.0 to the 5.0 MG). I tried to buy a replacement band but they’re currently out of stock.
I’ve reached out to Support so hopefully they’ll take care of it.
I have a similar issue, when I change bands the metal part bends when you unclip it and you have to bend it back to stay on, on my 4.0 it was a much stronger metal, which sprung back in to place, this one is far more malleable, did you change the kind of metal used?
Mine fell off golfing and i can’t find the clasp part! i reached out to customer service and they told me i had to buy a whole new strap??? i have everything but the little U shaped clasp. That’s terrible customer service as a long time customer i will be canceling if this is true
