GPS tracked runs not populating into the VO2max section of my Whoop

Since September 25, 2025 none of the 25+ minute GPS tracked runs I’ve done weekly are populating into the VO2 max section of my Whoop app. All the runs are visible & GPS tracked confirmed on the individual days. But when I click on “VO2Max” none of the runs are there. I’ve reached out to Whoop multiple times & they’ve sent me a new sensor last week. I performed the Norwegian 4 x 4 this past Saturday, & on the weekly VO2 max update today (10/28) the run from Saturday isn’t there. Has anyone out there had this issue?

Hey @Toddseigler,

Thanks for taking the time to write in.

I understand your concern about your GPS-tracked runs not showing in the VO2 Max section of your WHOOP app since September 25, 2025, despite the runs being visible and GPS tracked on the individual days.

Here are some important points about VO2 Max on WHOOP that might help clarify the situation:

  • WHOOP estimates VO2 Max weekly, typically updating on Tuesdays, and it is a slow-moving metric that changes over weeks and months rather than days.

  • To generate VO2 Max estimates, you need to have logged at least 14 sleeps within the last 21 days.

  • GPS-tracked runs of 15+ minutes improve the accuracy of VO2 Max estimates but are not required for the estimate to appear.

  • The VO2 Max estimate uses a combination of resting heart rate, heart rate variability, exercise patterns, and GPS-tracked performance.

  • Ensure your profile information such as weight and max heart rate is accurate, as this affects the VO2 Max calculation.

  • The runs you do should have “track route” toggled on to be counted for VO2 Max estimation.

  • VO2 Max data can be viewed in My Dashboard or in the Trends section by selecting VO2 Max.

Since you mentioned you have a new sensor and the issue persists, please double-check that you meet the sleep and recovery requirements and that your runs are logged with GPS tracking enabled in the WHOOP app.

If everything seems correct and the issue continues, please reach out to support@whoop.com.

The Whoop team is continuing to help me solve this issue. We’ve already performed the items you mentioned as well as other steps with no positive result. Whoop reached out to me this morning & stated “Our team has now submitted a detailed bug report to our engineering group for further analysis so they can identify and resolve the problem as quickly as possible. At this stage, we kindly ask for your patience while we await their updates.”

I posted in this forum hoping someone else had experienced this issue to possibly gather intel from a fellow whoop member. This is obviously a backend processing issue for GPS data integration. Hopefully this will be resolved soon.

I’m also experiencing the same issue. For (at least) the past couple weeks, my 15+ min runs are not taken into account for VO2 max measurement. In the past, I would see a message of the sort: “your run on helped give a more accurate measure of VO2 max”. Now I just see “complete a 15+ minute etc”.

Hi arielsh I’ve been email “whoop support” since the beginning of October about this issue. My last GPS-tracked run populated into the VO2max section of the app on Sept 25. Since then none of my runs have shown up even though I’ve done everything they’ve asked me to do. I received an “update” this morning saying basically the same bs they mentioned in previous emails…that the engineering team is working on it. I really hope they are & it’s resolved soon. While I know my vo2max continues to improve, it sucks seeing that it’s decreased 4 points in 2 months bc runs aren’t uploading into the app. I’ll keep you posted as I know more. Thank you ma’am

I have the same issue here, no gps tracked runs have been populated into whoop data since late September. No progress is recorded and incorporated into overall stats. Frustrating and defeats the purpose of tracking data and it undermines confidence in the data it is tracking. I am increasingly disappointed with the MG.

I have been having same issue here. Prior to beginning of October it incorporated my runs now even when I track it in the app as mentioned it still says I need to complete one . Seems to be a widespread issue

@liv0 I’ve sent @whoopsupport over 15 emails since October 15th & continue to get the run around…that the engineers are “continuing to look into the issue.” You guys that care & are also experiencing the same issue (gps tracked runs not populating into the VO2max section of the app) I’d ask that you also email whoop support & maybe if enough of us bombard them the issue will be resolved. Here are some of the emails I’ve sent along with responses. These are just some of the emails I’ve sent them & Whoop support hasn’t responded since the November 18th email indicating they have no “update” on the VO2max issue.

I tried to upload & include the emails but a pop-up message indicated I can only include 1. Here’s the last one from Whoop support on Nov 18

I have reported my issues to customer support. While they were responsive in the end got same outcome of they are looking into and will take it from here.

Here is an updated response from whoop support repeating what they told me before as well as gifting an extra month of membership. I’m also including what my VO2max was back in Sept when this issue with VO2max section of the app began as well as a screenshot of what Whoop says my VO2max has now decreased to.

Current VO2max updated this morning. I performed a 45 min zone2 run friday & a Norwegian 4x4 on Sunday neither populated into the VO2max section of the app further impacting the decrease in my overall score.

Whoop support response yesterday.
