Drumming should be an activity

I can’t believe driving is a type of activity but not drumming  My whoop successfully recognizes my drumming sessions but I don’t know what to put as the type of the activity. I usually burn around 400 calories for an hour of drumming session and it would be great if I can save that.

@kelestemur Thanks for the feedback. I hadn’t thought of that, but you’re absolutely right… if you’re burning 400 calories in a session of drumming, that is exercise for sure! I’ll pass this feedback onto the product team. Just curious: What activity does it tag it as when it does recognize it? I’m curious what the closest comparable to it ends up being when it auto-detects.

I have a similar experience, 500-700 calories per hour. Whoop just tags it as an “Activity”. It would be really helpful to have a category for drumming.

Love this. I drum too mate and it’s awesome for calories! I log it as “Stage Performance” which is an activity and given that’s all I/drummers typically do on stage (wink*) I find that’s a good fit

@Durkin It doesn’t detect as a specific activity, instead, it just says it detected an activity. Is there any update on this? Would love to have this feature as I’m drumming pretty much every day

One thing I might caution is the inaccurate heart rate and strain that comes from wearing on your wrist when playing. I did a 20 minute drum pad warm up and whoop recorded “commuting” with 5 minutes of heart rate in zone 5 and a total strain of 9.8. Seems likely this is because of the wrist action messing up the recording but just want to flag this for the whoop team if they’re implementing drumming as an activity.
