Why is it so frustrating to add new members to a family plan that i bought?
I bought a family plan for 3 people, and now i sit on three devices and an almost 700 bucks a year subscription for 3, but when I try to add my family members who are not on WHOOP, it asks them to buy a new device and a new 250 dollar subscription!
The support keeps replying with AI, describing interface elements in the app that don’t exist.
It’s extremely frustrating, and borderline illegal.
What is the way to invite someone to a family plan, if they have no account, without having to buy one more device and one more subscription?

To join your existing Family Plan, your family members shouldn’t go through the regular WHOOP checkout. Instead, they’ll join through a direct invite you send from inside your app, which links them to your paid plan.
Here’s the correct path to add them:
How to Add New Members (who do NOT have WHOOP yet):
Open the WHOOP app and go to: Menu → My Account → Membership Plan → Add Family Member
Enter the email address of the person you want to add.
They’ll receive an email invite.
They should click Accept Invite, create their account from that link, and pair their device — they will not be asked to purchase anything.
If someone tries to create a WHOOP account before receiving your invite, the app assumes they’re joining individually, which is why it showed a new device + membership. Accepting your invite fixes this immediately.
Same problem. I bought 3 bands for my husband and two kids. However I can’t add them to my plan. I can’t email them the link unless they have already set up an account but in order to do so they all need to enter payment information?! How do they set up accounts without payment
I am facing this exact same issue, there is no option to add a member or send an invitation where they can just accept and crack on. Instead it tries to ask them to subscribe to a new plan
