Why am I getting a more than a double Strain metric result when wearing with Whoop Training Shorts vs Wristband during a Spin session?
My best guess would be that in one of this scenarios the heart rate sensor is not tight enough and the measured heart rate is way off.
For example in my case wearing Whoop band snug like Apple Watch was not enough and I’ve seen intermittently much too high heart rate values on my slow walks (up to 130 - 150 bpm) which was affecting the calculated strain a lot.
Tightening the band more fixed the issue although it’s less comfortable.
For activities I’m usually moving the Whoop band few cm higher up on my wrist to ensure it’s even tighter and to not risk crazy results. After activity I’m sliding it back few cm to previous position for more comfort.
Try to observe you HR readings during workouts and ideally compare with some other trusted device like HR capable smart watch or HR chest strap etc. to identify when the readings are significantly off and play with different tension of the band (make it more tight) and different locations (where there be more body to read HR, like more up the wrist or to biceps area etc).
I hope this will help ![]()
