Will Whoop ever tell time?

Will Whoop ever offer a device/band that shows the time? I know that the brand prides themselves on “no distractions” however, I have talked to multiple people who do not want to wear a Whoop simply because they do not want to have to wear a Whoop AND a watch. Now that Whoop offers different bands and devices, maybe there can also be an option for even just a small screen displaying the time for those that want it? I think it would maybe appeal to more people that way. No need for anything else, just the time. Just a thought!

Hi @Daynalee, thanks for the question. Like you mentioned, we’ve historically been very focused on 24/7 “no distractions” and no screens. I’ll pass on this feedback of it including just the time to the Product and Hardware teams, however. I’m sure the team will need to think through if it makes sense philosophically and/of if it deviates too far from our mission and focus. I appreciate the feedback and I’ll pass it on. Thank you!

Understandable. Thank you for your response!

You’re welcome. Have a good rest of the day.

I was just thinking about this. That would be great if it has a timer in it.

I agree! Being able to see the time would be great

I actually appreciate that there isn’t a time display, it was part of what initially drew me to Whoop. I have so many friends that have transitioned from an Apple Watch to Whoop … none of them miss their “watch”

Totally agree. Brilliant idea.

That’s fair! I could see how an Apple Watch can be extremely distracting. I would absolutely despise being bombarded with notifications all day long and especially during my training sessions. For me personally, I just would like to have the Whoop tell time since some days I have to work out on my lunch break and really need to keep track of time. I’d much rather just glance at my wrist than have to stop and check the time on my phone and then possibly be distracted by a notification. Just my thoughts!

100% ! There absolutely should be a strap option which has a small digital clock. It would be great if you could quickly glance at the time as well. This is a no brainer for an upgraded strap option.

Please please add time! Even a watch band showing time is fine. Needing to know what time it is is not a distraction. I’m having to jump through hoops to figure out how to add time (tried adding a watch dial to the strap - looks and feels bad; bought a pocket watch - still have to bring it out of pocket or dangle it). Not fun.

Totally agree!

Would love to know the time without having to look at my phone/computer.

I can never commit to whoop if the band doesn’t tell me what time it is. A clock and battery life indicator would be ideal. I can live without text/email notifications hitting my Garmin watch but wearing a whoop device that is worn in the same manner as a watch and somewhat resembles a watch but doesn’t tell me the time? Pass. I’ve found it wildly uncomfortable and redundant to wear both a Garmin and a whoop and unfortunately will have to stick with the Garmin until something changes.

I have to chime in here. Frankly I agree with a no distraction philosophy, I ditched my Apple Watch for that reason. However I really think having the time would benefit! I love wearing a basic watch because it actually reduces my distraction for even a smartphone. When Whoop gives me notifications to keep the app running on my phone it totally defeats and constricts their purpose. Sure no smartwatch, but hey pick up that phone more. If I had a watch function it would be perfect.

I agree. This is my greatest disappointment with the Whoop. I often work in situations where I need to be device-free but then I have no way of telling the time. The only other option is to wear a digital watch on my other wrist, which I find uncomfortable and people often ask why I’m wearing two watches. All the Whoop needs is either a tiny digital only face that tells the time or some sort of LEDs that light up when you tap on it to decipher the time.

I highly agree with this, but I want to add more with the same sentiment as what everyone else is saying. I love Whoop’s no screens, no distractions sentiment, but then requiring everyone to go on an app feels incredibly anti-productive. I would love to have a watch on my whoop, as everyone else is saying, and I would also love to access the app on my whoop. I don’t care about anything else. No phone notifications, phone calls, music (though maybe music would be nice), etc. That way I don’t have to bring my phone with me as I exercise, or use my phone at night when I’m not trying to be on it but need it to track my pre-bed recovery activities. Literally, even if it was just the ability to track activities and strength training sessions from the whoop instead of my phone would be nice. Between a watch interface and that, I think it would really assist in Whoop’s no distractions philosophy.

I would absolutely love a band option that just had a really simple time display on it, so I don’t have to keep taking my phone out of my pocket.
