WHOOP MG Is Detected but Always Fails to Connect? Check if Your LED Is Green.

I wanted to share this because I couldn’t find this solution anywhere in the official WHOOP troubleshooting articles.

Symptoms

If you’re experiencing all of the following:

  • Your WHOOP MG is detected by the WHOOP app.
  • Pairing starts normally.
  • Every attempt ends with “Connection Failed.”
  • The LED on your WHOOP stays green.

Then your device may not actually be in Bluetooth pairing mode, even though the app can still detect it.

The Fix

The LED must be flashing blue before attempting to pair.

Here’s what worked for me:

  1. Remove the WHOOP from your wrist.
  2. Turn the sensor side (the side that touches your skin) facing up.
  3. Firmly tap the upper part of the sensor several times.
  4. Keep tapping until the LED changes from green to flashing blue.
  5. Once the LED is flashing blue, start the pairing process again in the WHOOP app.

As soon as my LED turned blue, the pairing completed successfully on the first attempt.

Why This Matters

The confusing part is that a green LED can make it seem like everything is working because the WHOOP app still detects the device. However, if the LED isn’t flashing blue, the Bluetooth pairing may fail every time.

I hope this saves someone else the hours of frustration that I went through.
