Whoop band turns off even with 50% battery

My whoop band turns off and the app does not show any device connected. Battery was not an issue as it was showing 30%. This has happened second time during my workout and the band turns on when i put the battery pack back on the band. Did someone had similar issues?

Hi @pankaj107, I’m sorry you’re running into this… sounds frustrating, especially happening during a workout. Usually, this points to either a temporary glitch or an issue with the battery pack or sensor connection.

A few things to try:

  • Reboot your WHOOP: Open the app, go to Device Settings > Advanced > Reboot Device. This often resolves temporary bugs.
  • Check connections: Make sure the battery pack and sensor are clean and connect securely. Try reattaching or charging with another cable if you can.
  • Firmware update: See if there are any updates for your WHOOP or battery pack in the app.

If it keeps happening, it could be a hardware issue and contacting WHOOP Support might be the best bet. To do that, email support@whoop.com and a member of the team will be in touch.

Hope that’s helpful @pankaj107! Have a good rest of your day.

I’ve had exactly the same problem twice now. At approx. 30%+ battery level, the sensor was suddenly dead. Only with the application of the battery pack I was able to revive the sensor.

Current firmware is installed. Since I just got the MG new, I wonder if there is a software or even hardware bug here.

Today again: Battery was at 83% - Whoop sensor suddenly was dead. Only with the battery pack was it possible to revive the sensor again.

The annoying thing is that if in doubt you only notice it after a few hours, resp. not at night.

@liv0 Is the WHOOP team working on it? Feedback on this error would be great - thank you!

Last night, my Whoop once again shut down on its own. I didn’t notice it, so no sleep data was recorded. I only realized it this morning.

This is very frustrating because my strike count has now been reset as well. Since I started using Whoop about two months ago, it has already powered off by itself four times. Each time it happened at a different moment and regardless of the battery level. The sensor can then only be reactivated with the battery pack.

It would be great if someone from support could address this issue, as I’m clearly not the only one experiencing this problem.

I would drop an email to support and have it replaced. I’ve just had a replacement for a different problem and they couldn’t have been more helpful.

Yes, that was definitely a good idea. A replacement is already on the way. I hope this solves the problem.

So far, the sudden switch-off has only occurred very sporadically, at the weekend then even three times.

Annoying even if it’s once a year though cos you get addicted to the metrics don’t you
