Whoop App suggestion - steps import

I walk on a LifeSpan treadmill while I work. It tracks my steps for me, and syncs to Apple Health.

My whoop has no idea I’m walking sometimes, since my hands are mostly stationary. I did try moving the whoop to my ankle, which did track steps much better, but also had heart rate readings that were wildly inaccurate - so that was not the solution here.

But I, like many others, purchased a desk treadmill that specifically had apple health integration so steps could always be tracked and imported. Coming from the Oura ring, it is unfortunate that the whoop app does not import actives from apple health. I think this is a very needed change! Sync steps and activities!

Hi @vinnysaj, thank you for the note. I’ve added your feedback to an existing internal feedback thread we have on this topic. It’s been requested by multiple users. Thank you for the added context regarding the desk treadmill. Would you mind sending me which model desk that is as well so that I can add it to the note?

Hey Durkin!

I appreciate the reply. I’ve just got a typical Varidesk on top of my wall mounted desk. Nothing crazy.

Just want to pop in and mention here that allowing users to import steps count from Apple health kit would effectively solve this problem, as many under desk treadmills already sync with Apple health kit.

Additionally using apple health kit to import steps would be overall more accurate, because in some instances whoop will not register steps, especially if used on a treadmill or in bicep band mode where arms do not sway. But a phone in a pocket would register those steps, and Apple health kit aggregates all of the different step counting data sources.

+1 That same with Health Connect sync
