Did anyone else completely lose trust in Whoop data after the strain changes from 4.0 to 5.0? I’ve had my 5.0 for a few weeks now and the strain numbers are so drastically different that it’s almost laughable and there’s no relative baseline to compare it to.
My average strain is multiple points lower than it used to be and I’m finding it so much more difficult to achieve high strain without going for a run/doing specific high intensity cardio. For instance, the other day I went for a 6-mile hike, did a 45-minute lifting workout, and got nearly ~25,000 steps (though nothing that significantly increased my heart rate) and ended up with a strain for the day of only 8 on my 5.0. On my old 4.0, I feel like that day would’ve been much closer to my previous 14-16 average.
Anyone else having a similar experience with the 5.0?
Had lots of issues with my 5.0 and pretty much everything is worse than the 4.0.
It’s been telling me that spending time outdoors and drinking AG1 daily are having a negative impact on my day recovery/sleep. It’s utter nonsense really.
It’s really not good. HR readings are not right, walk, recovery, sleep and on and on.
Same here. I wear Whoop during nighttime only now. It gives at least a decent picture of my recovery. Due to inaccurate hr readings and therefore all other metrics being off it makes no sense wearing during the day. I use my sportswatch and a chest strap for training and Whoop during the night. Don’t know for how long I will keep this set up going. But since hr has been a problem in activities for a long time I do not have much hope it will change soon. Bicep band also didn’t help. Whoop 4 was better but not to a satisfying degree. I agree that things worsened with Whoop 5. I think for me the day might come where I don’t wear it at all anymore.
