To properly upcycle your WHOOP 4 and get the 2-month free membership plus a $50 reward, follow these steps:

  1. Choose how you want to gift your WHOOP:

    • Option 1: Gift a free 2-month WHOOP Peak membership. The recipient signs up using your device and enjoys 2 months free. If they continue with a paid membership after the trial, you receive a $50 WHOOP Shop credit.

    • Option 2: Prepay $149 for a 12-month WHOOP Peak membership for the recipient. You get an instant $90 discount on your own upgrade (no $50 credit in this case).

  2. Prepare your WHOOP device:

    • Remove it from your account.

    • Clean the band thoroughly with soap and water.

    • Let it dry completely.

  3. Give the cleaned WHOOP device to the recipient (the “upcyclee”).

  4. The recipient downloads the WHOOP app, creates a new account, and pairs the device. Their membership activates automatically based on the option you chose.

  5. If you chose the free trial path, you will receive your $50 reward via email once the recipient converts to a paid membership.

The $50 reward is a store credit for WHOOP accessories (not for membership fees) and does not expire.

Upcycled two WHOOP 4.0 devices — can I still get the “Option 2” renewal discount (or equivalent)?

Quick context: my original post stayed unlisted/pending for a few days, so I didn’t see the “Option 2” guidance in time and had to proceed with upcycling right away. In the meantime, I’ve upcycled two WHOOP 4.0 devices, and I want to make sure I follow the program correctly without creating extra work for your team.

Here’s the current status:

  1. Device #1: Recipient created a new account and has already paid for an annual membership on their account.

  2. Device #2: Recipient created an account, paired the device, but has not completed payment for the annual membership yet.

If I had seen “Option 2” earlier, I would have used it to apply the $90 discount to my own renewal.

My question: Is there any way to treat one of these upcycles as “Option 2” retroactively (or apply an equivalent credit/discount) so I can receive the renewal benefit on my account?

  • If it’s not possible for Device #1 because the annual membership is already paid, could Device #2 still be converted to “Option 2” before payment is completed?

  • Alternatively, since I’ve brought two new active/pending subscribers to WHOOP, is there a way to provide a discount code (or account credit) for my upcoming renewal as a goodwill solution?
