Walking Pad steps are not counted – importing steps from Apple Health would solve this

Hi WHOOP team & community,

I’m using a walking pad regularly (desk treadmill), and unfortunately a large portion of my daily steps is not being counted correctly by WHOOP.
This seems to be related to the limited arm movement while walking on a walking pad – a known issue for wrist-based step detection.

Suggested improvement:
If WHOOP could read and import step data from Apple Health, this problem would be solved immediately.
Apple Health already consolidates steps from multiple sources (iPhone, other wearables, treadmills), and WHOOP could benefit from using this consolidated data instead of relying solely on its own detection.

Benefits:

  • Accurate step counts for walking pads and treadmill desks

  • Better step accuracy for users with limited arm movement

  • No manual correction needed

  • Apple Health is already integrated – this would be a logical extension

Allowing WHOOP to read steps from Apple Health would significantly improve the user experience for many of us.

Would love to hear if this is already on the roadmap or under consideration.
Thanks!

1000% this.

If this simple addition isn’t accounted for, I will be dropping my Whoop Life subscription when it’s up for renewal.

Whoop already integrates with Apple Health. Crazy that my steps have to show up as ~3k every day when I’m averaging 15k+. Affects all statistics, including Whoop Age, making several premium features useless.
