My father and I have been whoop members for the past year and we would both like to upgrade to the highest membership with whoop MG / Life.
However, in the past we have registered separately and we would like to use the family discount in order to proceed with the upgrade.
The website doesn’t allow us to do so, therefore, do you know if there is a way to still benefit from the discount, while not loosing the data from the previous whoop account?
Also does the whoop family registration require that we share the account?
Great questions! With a WHOOP Family Plan, you and your father can absolutely upgrade to WHOOP Life together and still keep your individual accounts and data. Here’s how it works:
Separate accounts, shared billing: A Family Plan allows 2–6 members to share one membership rate while each person keeps their own WHOOP device, account, and private data. You will not be sharing a single account.
Upgrading to WHOOP Life: To move to WHOOP Life with the MG device, one of you will create a Family Plan in the WHOOP app and invite the other. Once both are on the plan, the admin can upgrade the entire plan to Life.
What happens to your current time: Any remaining membership time you’ve each already paid for will be pooled together and prorated across the Family Plan, so nothing is lost.
Your data: All of your historical WHOOP data stays with your account, regardless of the membership change.
This way, you both get the discounted rate under the Family Plan and the benefits of WHOOP Life, with no loss of progress or history.
Please follow these steps:
Open the WHOOP app
Go to Menu > My Account > Membership & Billing (or Membership Plan)
Select Create a Family Plan (sometimes labeled Save Big with a Family Membership)
Follow the on-screen prompts to confirm payment and send invites
From there, one of them will become the Family Plan admin (who manages billing), and the other will receive an email invite to join.
