Unexpected $253 charge after buying WHOOP at Best Buy

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share a situation I recently experienced and see if anyone else has gone through something similar.

I was recently in the United States for a short stay and decided to order a WHOOP device through the app. The estimated delivery time suggested it would arrive while I was still there, but the order stayed in “waiting to be processed” for several days and never actually shipped.

Since my time in the U.S. was limited and I was moving between locations, I became concerned that the device wouldn’t arrive before I left. Because of that, I ended up going to Best Buy and purchasing a WHOOP Peak in store for about $254 so I could start using it immediately.

About a month later, I noticed another charge of $253.94 from WHOOP on my card. This surprised me because I had already purchased the device in person at Best Buy, and the original order I placed through the app had never even shipped while I was in the U.S.

Right now I’m honestly a bit confused about how the billing works in this situation and why the additional charge appeared.

Has anyone else experienced something similar after buying their WHOOP at a retail store?
