Subject: WHOOP 5.0 BLE failure – device will not enter pairing mode

Hello! I have an issue with my WHOOP 5.0.
The device flashes green when I remove the battery pack, but it never enters blue pairing mode. It cannot be detected by any phone — including my iPhone 15 Pro — not even as an unknown BLE device.

The battery pack is working and charges normally, but the WHOOP itself does not broadcast any Bluetooth signal and cannot be paired. I tried multiple power cycles, long charging cycles, rapid power disconnects, and repeated battery pack cycles. Nothing helped.

This matches the known WHOOP 5.0 issue where the BLE module becomes stuck in a non‑recoverable state (“WHOOP 5.0 BLE failure”). The device is responsive to power but cannot enter pairing mode at all.

Phone: iPhone 15 Pro (latest iOS)
Region: Kazakhstan

Please assist with replacing my WHOOP 5.0.

Thank you!

Hi @KCC1980,

Since your device does not enter pairing mode at all (no blue flashing lights), and you have confirmed the battery pack is working and charging normally, this indicates a hardware-level BLE failure. This is something our Membership Services team will need to assist you with. Please reach out to support@whoop.com.

The usual troubleshooting steps for pairing issues include:

  • Ensuring the WHOOP app is updated and running.

  • Forgetting any previously paired WHOOP devices in your phone’s Bluetooth settings.

  • Restarting your phone.

  • Putting the WHOOP device into pairing mode by holding the sensor by its sides off the wrist, waiting for the bottom LEDs to turn off, then tapping the top of the sensor firmly and continuously with two fingers until only blue lights flash.

  • Trying to pair again through the WHOOP app.
