Stress monitor benchmarks

Hi there,

I’ve been a long time WHOOP user (I think over 5 years now) and love how you’ve continually provided useful data insights. I often like looking at trending metrics over time, which is now much easier with the coach feature. Personally, I’ve noticed a 35% decrease in my HRV over the last 5 years, which has caused me to questions which factors have played a role. The coach helps to form hypotheses about my training and sleep, but generally speaking I haven’t had many lifestyle changes that would attribute to such a sharp decline. My hypothesis is it could be stress induced, as my work has gotten more intense, but the coach has limited insights into how the stress monitor factors into HRV/RHR. Additionally, when asking the coach how my stress levels compare to the overall population and my demographic, the response was that WHOOP has not benchmarked these metrics. I personally would find stress insights really interesting, as I assume theee are many professionals out there interested in how cortisol levels affect overall health.

Hey @kylefox253 , that’s awesome insight! I am also a 5+ year member and love how much data I’ve been able to collect over the years. Your idea about deeper stress insights, especially around how cortisol and chronic load might relate to HRV and RHR over time, is thoughtful. A lot of members in demanding professional roles could benefit from those connections.

We appreciate the feedback and will pass it along to our product team.
