My whoop overstates my heart rate vs. my polar chest strap. Is there any way to record the polar stats on my whoop page?
Hi @Owwool, thanks for the question. We currently don’t have an integration with Polar or other wearables and there is not a way to see their metrics in the WHOOP app. I’ll pass this feedback to the Product team though! Thanks for writing in. Have a good rest of your day.
Thanks for the prompt response. Why would the Whoop be so dramatically different than the Polar? My concern is that you’re using the huge overstated time in zone 5 in all your reports and suggestions.
How can we address my concern? I can’t imagine I’m the only Whoop user with this situation. Does Whoop have a chest strap that might be more accurate or can I adjust the time in zone to what my Polar chest strap records.
Wear your Whoop on the bicep. Wrist heart rate is highly inaccurate. I made the experience that it overestimates my heart rate in all workouts I did. Wrist heart rate is useless if you are serious about your sports. It’s not just Whoop though. It’s all devices with wrist based heart rate measurement. Wear it on the bicep or (as you do already) use a chest strap.
Thanks for the reply.
Ideally I’d like to be able to input the Polar zone info into Whoop, but it doesn’t appear to be an option for my Whoop.
I’ll give the bicep idea a try and compare it to my Polar chest strap.
Thank you! We often hear about wrist heart rate being inaccurate, but not enough people mention this is true for all devices (including Apple Watch) make the recommendation to wear it on the bicep or use chest straps. Great stuff!
That would be great. Polar’s zones or even TrainingPeaks. WHOOP really needs to go gangbusters on functionality and integrations now, considering competitors are increasingly entering into this form factor (band).
Absolutely agree. Thanks.
