No blue light appearing to enable pairing of device with app despite tapping for several minutes multiple times! The yellow green light comes on to show battery but nothing else.
The device is connected with Bluetooth without the i option next to it. No option to forget the device.
Have followed all advice mentioned on whoop or online - turning Bluetooth on off, putting phone on airplane mode and off. Switching the phone off on. But no change.
Hi @svatara, thanks for the post. It sounds like you’re looking to unpair your device.
I’ve never seen that before (a paired device not having an “i” icon next to it).
One thing you could try if you’re looking to unpair your WHOOP device is to do it through the WHOOP app itself. Follow these steps to give it a try for yourself:
Open the WHOOP app
Go to your Profile and click on “Device Settings” under “Account & Settings.”
Click the “Advanced” tab.
Click “Unpair Device”
When you see the popup that says “Are you sure?” Click “Unpair Device”
If that’s not what you’re looking for, I suggest you email support@whoop.com and they’ll help you with your individual case. Thanks!
Hi Dan. After trying everything, the following worked for. Sharing with you incase it helps: Deleting the Whoop App. Ensuring the Whoop device is well charged. Switching off phone, restarting . Redownloading the Whoop App. This finally removed the Whoop device from my bluetooth. Once this happened, I was able to put the device on the pairing mode, and connect again with the device.
Many thanks svatara, I’ve solved my problem by doing the same as you but if it helps for future reference I didn’t delete the Whoop app as I feared losing my data. Since the Whoop device showed as disconnected in the app, shutting down the phone (not just restarting) did clear Whoop from Bluetooth and I think this was the deciding factor. I also think I caused my own problem by forgetting to recharge the device so it was run down to zero. I attached the charger for 20 minutes before retrying to pair it and that may have helped.
Hello, I tried all the steps, delete the whoop app, reinstalled it, turn off my phone, turned it back on again, checked on my bluetooth connection there’s no whoop. But it seems my whoop still can’t go into pairing mode. Tapping the whoop for so long but still no blue light. Contacted whoop support already almost 48 hours ago and still no respond from them either. Can someone help me?
Let’s try a few focused checks to narrow down what’s happening:
Fully charge the battery pack
• Plug the pack into wall power with the WHOOP-supplied USB-C cable for at least 15 minutes.
• A red (charging) or green (charged) LED on the pack should appear within 1–2 seconds.
Wake the sensor while the pack is powered
• Keep the battery pack plugged in, then slide it onto the sensor until it clicks.
• Wait 60 seconds and lift the sensor from the band—do you see any green LEDs or other lights underneath?
Try a hard reset + manual pairing
• Leave the powered battery pack attached.
• Open the WHOOP app → Menu (three lines) → Device Settings → Reboot Device.
• After the reboot finishes, remove the battery pack and immediately tap the top of the sensor firmly and continuously with two fingers. Continue tapping until you only see flashing blue LEDs. (If blue + white lights appear, keep tapping until only blue remains.)
Refresh Bluetooth on your phone
• In your phone’s Bluetooth settings, “Forget” any WHOOP entries you see.
• Power the phone completely off, wait 10 seconds, then power it back on.
• Open the WHOOP app → Device Settings → Advanced → Pair a Device and select your strap once the blue lights are flashing.
If the sensor stays completely dark:
• What color (if any) shows on the battery pack when it’s plugged in?
• Do you see any lights on the sensor—green, red, blue, or white—while charging or tapping?
• What phone model and operating system are you using (e.g., iPhone 14 on iOS 17.1 or Samsung Galaxy S23 on Android 14)?
But I still can not pair it, how can I hard reset if my device is not connected to my phone? Did I miss something on step 3?
