New App Idea for WHOOP Users – Looking for Your Feedback & Ideas!
Hi everyone!
I’m currently working on a new app designed specifically for WHOOP users — with the goal of helping you get even more out of your WHOOP data and stay motivated in a fun, engaging way.
The WHOOP API gives access to a wide range of insights, such as:
• Recovery, Strain, HRV, Sleep Stages
• Long-term load and recovery trends
• How specific activities impact your sleep and performance
My idea:
An app that not only visualizes your WHOOP data, but also adds smart insights, simulations, and small motivational challenges, for example:
• How would my recovery change if I skipped caffeine today?
• Predictive “Strain Forecast” based on your schedule and recent trends
• Weekly or monthly recaps that actually inspire you to improve
⸻
I’d love your input:
• Would you be interested in an app like this?
• What do you currently miss in the WHOOP app?
• What feature would you use right away if it existed?
Looking forward to your thoughts, ideas, and anything you’d love to see in such an app!
(Also from Germany here). I find the approach of your app interesting. However what I miss in the Whoop app is several features for ambitious athletes (in German ambitionierte Freizeitsportler LOL). Namely: Different heart rate zones for cycling, running, swimming. You probably get it - I’m a triathlete. One zone for all is simply not working. Because of this daily strain is a metric that has limited value and throws off other metrics as well. With Whoop on the bicep at least it gives decent heart rate data.
The predicted strain forecast you mentioned would be good. But as said it is of limited benefit when heart rate is inaccurate or has wrong zones. For me this is the main factor of frustration. I also would love to see where - or if - I made progress. Since there’s nothing where we can compare pace, heart rate, speed, power etc you don’t really know if you’re treading water or make progress or even go backwards.
Also VLamax, being able to connect a chest strap, being able to connect your sports watch, manually add or alter things like pace, speed, power etc… This are all things Whoop is missing. They designed it for serious athletes but honestly in my opinion it lacks a lot of what serious athletes want and need.
Maybe I’m expecting too much or this is not what you want to do with your app. Just threw out what came into my mind. What I use the most in the AI Coach. The rest is just nice to see for me because of the things mentioned above.
