I have all read/write options enabled for Whoop in Apple Health. I can see my nutrition data in Apple Health. I have Whoop connected to Apple Health. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Whoop App. I’ve tried rebooting my phone. I’m at a loss on what else to try. The in app chat says that I should switch from MyFitnessPal to another app or log the data manually. There must be a better solution. Anyone?
As far as I’m aware, WHOOP doesn’t import nutritional information from MyFitnessPal (via Apple Health or Android Health Connect), but it does import metrics such as weight and body fat percentage.
I use the two apps independently of each other, but I agree that it would be of great benefit if WHOOP would analyse calorie intake and macro breakdown. However currently, I don’t think it’s possible with these apps.
I use MyFitnesspal that writes to Apple Health. Whilst Whoop does read apple health nutrition it only uses it for “My Journal”.
Alan, that is what I am trying to do. Mine is not writing to My Journal. I see the data in Apple Health and I have all read/write options enabled, but nothing writes to My Journal.
There are articles on Whoop that say “WHOOP can auto-log data on macro intake from nutrition apps like MyFitnessPal, keeping all of your health and fitness information in one place.”
I stand corrected, although it still isn’t possible for Android devices which is what I use ![]()
Anyway, this doesn’t help with your query, so hopefully someone with an Apple device will be able to help you troubleshoot. Sorry for the confusion.
Make sure in Apple Health you have at least one thing that Whoop writes. If you are not writing to Apple health the read function doesn’t seem to be triggered. I think this was the issue I had when I first tried. I think I toggled all writes off, back on and then left all but one toggled on.
I can see that data is being written from Whoop to Apple Health. I can also see some fields (like weight) being written from Apple Health to Whoop. They are definitely connected, but nutrition is not updating my journal.
Hopefully Support see this and assists you..
Are you filling out your journal during the day rather than in the morning when you get the popup journal prompt? I’ve noticed that if you do fill out the journal during the day, it breaks the auto-nutrition import in the morning. This has been addressed with Whoop Support without an update on a fix.
I only fill out the journal when I get the pop up in the morning. I guess all it took was posting to this group, because it was auto populated this morning. I didn’t do anything, but I’m not going to complain. Must have been some sort of glitch. Thank everyone for trying to help.
