My friend is thinking of getting WHOOP bands for his aging parents and has two quick questions:
Since they’re not very tech-savvy, is there any way for him to view their data/dashboards remotely on his own app or account?
If WHOOP detects something unusual — e.g., an irregular heartbeat, high strain, or abnormal recovery metrics — is there a way for him to receive a notification or alert automatically?
Has anyone tried managing WHOOP data for family members before? Any workarounds or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks for your questions! Here’s how WHOOP currently works for managing or monitoring data for family members:
Viewing Another Member’s Data Remotely: WHOOP accounts are designed for individual privacy and data security. There isn’t a built-in feature that allows one member to view another member’s dashboard or data directly from their own app or account. Each person has their own account and login, and data is not automatically shared between accounts.
Notifications for Unusual Metrics: WHOOP does not currently offer a way for one member to receive automatic notifications or alerts about another member’s unusual metrics (like irregular heartbeat, high strain, or abnormal recovery) on their own device or app.
Workaround: Members can manually share their Health Reports or screenshots with others via email or messaging apps.
Many members have asked about managing data for family members, especially for older adults. While there’s no official “caregiver” mode yet, WHOOP is always evolving, so feedback like this is valuable!
Thank you for your reply. It would be great if Whoop can build these features - I know more than one friend who wants these features for their non-tech savy parents and they’d appreciate if a workflow like that existed.
