Menopause Setting

Is there a setting on Whoop for menopause?
I see menstruating and pregnant. Not very encompassing.

I think there isn’t. I’m in the same situation. Maybe they think older women are not overly active anymore that this could play a role lol

It’s really unfortunate that a company like Whoop has negated a substantial and valuable portion of the population. I love my Whoop and have had it for years but this thinking is both short-sighted and slightly misogynistic. I am more active now than ever and I would love to use Whoop data to help understand how menopausal shifts are affecting HRV and sleep.
Their support says they are working on changes.
We shall see……

1. What I’m Experiencing

  • Hot flashes aligned with my cycle → appearing when my period should start, and diminishing when it should end. That’s classic perimenopause fluctuation.

  • Skin temperature spikes → tracked by Whoop, but currently flagged generically rather than recognized as a hot flash event.

  • Sleep + recovery impact → hot flashes can fragment sleep, raise resting HR, and shift HRV.

  • Creatine advice mismatch → Whoop’s generic recommendations (e.g., “do not take creatine”) don’t align with your personal context. Research actually suggests creatine can be beneficial in perimenopause/menopause for muscle preservation, cognitive support, and even sleep quality.

2. What Would Be Valuable for Me (and I assume many others)

I’m asking for contextual recognition rather than blanket advice. For example:

  • Hot flash tracking toggle: Let me log when I’m experiencing them so that it can connect those to temp spikes, HR/HRV changes, and sleep disruption.

  • Cycle + perimenopause layer: Since cycle irregularities + symptoms are different from standard menstrual tracking, the insights should adjust.

  • Adaptive recommendations: Instead of saying “don’t take creatine,” Whoop could offer:
“Your elevated skin temperature may be linked to a hot flash. Here are possible recovery strategies: cooling sleep environment, magnesium, hydration. Creatine remains supportive during perimenopause—no need to restrict unless advised medically.”

3. Why This Matters

Perimenopause isn’t just about missed cycles—it’s about how fluctuating estrogen affects autonomic regulation (sleep, temperature, recovery, stress load). If Whoop integrates this layer, it could:

  • Offer more personalized coaching.

  • Help me connect dots between symptoms + physiology.

  • Avoid misleading one-size-fits-all recommendations.

In short, I’d love to see Whoop recognize and track hot flashes alongside cycle insights, connect them to changes in sleep/recovery, and adapt recommendations for perimenopause. Instead of generic “do not” advice (like with creatine), the platform could provide context-specific guidance that supports women through this stage. This will support the next stage of womenhood, menopause.

Thanks for this. Already over it but I agree. I think also an algorithm that takes menopause into account would be great. There are just not only young women using Whoop.

100% - I would go under the assumption that there’s overlap with the two, and Whoop’s data should be able to recognize that associated data. I would like to know when I hit menopause.
