Just got a new WHOOP band (Life), the Journal is very confusing

Hey everyone! I just got my WHOOP and I’m a bit confused about how to fill out the journal correctly.

I asked the built-in AI, and it told me that I should fill out the journal retrospectively - meaning everything I log under June 16th should reflect what I did on June 15th, both during the day and at night.

But then, at the top of the journal, it says “What’s happening today, June 16th?” which feels misleading if I’m supposed to be logging yesterday’s activities.

Also, under the “daytime” section, it includes ‘nighttime-related questions’ like “Did your partner snore?” which adds to the confusion since it’s grouped after daytime items, yet still referring to the ‘previous night’.

If it’s meant to be filled in hindsight, shouldn’t the prompt say something like ‘What did you do yesterday?’ and default to the previous day’s date?

Would really appreciate if someone could clarify the intended logic here. And tell me how I’m actually supposed to fill in the journal. I want my data to be correlated to the correct nights sleep and metrics. Thanks in advance!

Yes, so usually in the morning you will fill out what you did the day before (it will say “What happened yesterday” on top). Historically this is the one Whoop always had. Sometimes this will pop up on it’s own, sometimes not.
But there’s also the option to fill out todays journal during the day which is what you’re seeing. So nighttime activities in the today view are not really helpful.

In short, if we’re talking about the 16th, daytime activities would be about this day and nighttime activities about the night from 16th to 17th.

To fill out yesterdays journal just go back a day as you can see in my screenshot. The background gradient should also change to purple.

Feel free to let me know if this answers your questions

So, what the Whoop AI says isn’t right, right?
