My journal lists the following negative impacts on my sleep performance:
- AG1 -3%
- Magnesium -3%
- 84+ Sleep Performance -5%
- Journaling -6%
- Hydration -7%
- Calcium -8%
How does the algorithm conclude these items are negatively impacting my sleep? I have checked these on the same days as the items that positively impacted my sleep. How can it tell the difference?

While the journal, overall, is and has been helpful insight, for me personally, I have, as well, seen several discrepancies, over time, such as these, which make zero sense to reality. Any updates from WHOOP as to a fix? @liv0
It appears that the algorithm needs variance to make correlations. The negative items are things I do every day, so the algorithm has nothing to compare them to. The algorithm works best with things that do vary, like alcohol, daylight eating, or exposure to the sunrise. The journal does not affect your HRV or recovery scores. Iām pausing a few of the items to see if the algorithm reflects anything different.
