I’ve noticed that step data from WHOOP is showing incorrectly in Apple Health. The number of steps in WHOOP and Apple Health do not match — Apple Health shows duplicated or inflated numbers compared to the WHOOP app.
I’ve attached screenshots for reference:
WHOOP shows 20,412 steps for Sept 5.
Apple Health shows 30,642 steps for the same day.
In Apple Health → All Recorded Data, I can see multiple small entries added by the WHOOP source, which seems to create duplication.
Can you please advise:
How can I make sure Apple Health shows the correct number of steps from WHOOP?
Is there a way to prevent this duplication issue when syncing?
Same concept for Apple Fitness app workouts (iPhone “Fitness” / Activity app): Go to Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Fitness.
• There you’ll see the Data Sources list (just like for steps).
• Tap Edit and drag your preferred source (Apple Watch, WHOOP, etc.) to the top.
This makes Apple Health/Fitness prioritize the right source, so workouts don’t get double-counted.
Hello, I have similar issue but with calories instead. After two workouts that I started on Apple watch the whoop widget shows 1600 calories burnt . Should I disable to write activity energy for whoop in health app?
Hi, I dont see “Edit” tab at the Data Sources list when I go to Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Fitness. .. The sources are there, but its not editable..
