Incorrect HR at higher intensity

Hi, I’m consistently noticing that my whoop 5.0 is vastly incorrect at higher heart rate - 50%-100% off in most cases. I’m close to peak heart rate and it’s telling me 90’s or low 100’s. It’s on my wrist and I’ve tried tightening, wiping off sweat, different locations, back of wrist. Nothing fixes. Any advice?

This is a major problem of many people. Maybe try a bicep band. For me it’s off even with this.

I am new to whoop (less than a week), and today I have faced the same problem. My chest heart rate monitor (which I believe more) showed 181 bpm max, while whoop showed 5.0 on my wrist show 195 bpm max (and not even show it on diagram). Actually I consider it as a significant disadvantage (maybe it is a reason to return my whoop while I have such opportunity).

Does Whoop developers provide some feedback or information about this critical problem?

When you contact support they will tell you to wear the band tight. As for me I emailed back and forth with support and they kept telling me to wear the band snug. There are even marks on my bicep. Support sent me a replacement device. But it’s still the same. Many people in this forum are dealing with exact the same thing. Support team eventually told me they are investigating this issue. But it seems it’s known for quite some time already and nothing happened. My advice for you is to build your opinion about this all and then make the right decision.

I have the same problem with my WHOOP MG: HR values that are 10 to 50 points too low (also compared to the WHOOP 4 and Fitbit).

WHOOP replaced the sensor, but that didn’t help. I’ve tried everything with the wristband and bicep band, including different positions and tightening, without a solution.

In my distress, I’ve now manually adjusted the HR zones in “Activity Settings” so that I reach also zones 3 to 5 when exercising.

Exactly same thing here. But even adjusting heart rate zones would not help. I’m a triathlete and adjusting hr zones multiple times a week or even during the day would be a nightmare.

I have decided not to refund whoop. I really hope it is software problem and developers will fix it soon. So I will follow this problem closely with you
