Inaccurate Heart Rate Readings Lately

For about 2-3 weeks I am wondering why - all of a sudden - my RHR is elevated (around 10%, see spikes in screenshot) and my HRV is low.

Today I did a little Zone 2 run and checked my heart rate readings after the run.

Whoops heart rate readings are significantly higher than my Garmin chest strap readings.
In the past when I checked my run stats on both devices there were differences and Whoops readings always were a little bit higher, but the difference was maybe 2-3 bpm.

Is anybody experiencing similar things lately (I am using the 5.0 MG Whoop)?
No real lifestyle changes. Work is the same, workout routines are the same, sleep feels the same (subjectivly).

I cycle using my Whoop MG connected to my bike computer. I was wearing it on my wrist for the longest time and I had the opposite problem. My heart rate was way lower than what my Apple Watch was showing. I got the Whoop arm band earlier this week and it works WAY better. I’m going to give it another test run today.

I surmise the previously inaccurate heart rate reading has to do with the fact that I have a more leaner, athletic build and relatively smaller wrists. So no matter how snug the band was on my wrist, the sensor wasn’t going to make 100% contact. My upper bicep has much more surface area for Whoop MG to read everything accurately. I was reading that the inaccurate heart rate while having it on the wrist is common due to the sensor losing optical contact or reading ambient light noise. The arm band is the answer. I almost wear it exclusively now. Hope this helps.

Thanks for sharing your experiences!
For me however this phenomenon of having way higher heart rate data on Whoop compared to the Garmin chest strap occurs for about 2-3 weeks now. Before there wasn’t too much of a difference (I have almost 1,000 days on my Whoop). The drops in HRV and increases in RHR are also correlated to this time frame of about 2-3 weeks.
