Import external strength workouts

I’d really love to see WHOOP support importing external strength workouts (for example from the MacroFactor Workout App by Jeff Nippard) and use that data to calculate Muscular Load / Strength Strain.

Right now the situation is:

  • I track my lifting sessions in MacroFactor.
  • If I want WHOOP to correctly calculate the strain from strength training, I have to rebuild the entire workout in Strength Trainer (exercises, sets, reps, weights).
  • For me, double logging is not an option long term – it’s simply too time‑consuming and annoying to enter the same workout twice.

On top of that, compared to dedicated strength apps, Strength Trainer currently feels:

  • super buggy and hard to navigate, and
  • missing a lot of functionality that apps like MacroFactor already have.

I really like WHOOP for sleep, recovery, strain, and health insights, but for strength training I want to keep using a specialized app like MacroFactor – and would love WHOOP to read those workouts instead of forcing us to log everything twice. The Strength Trainer really is a pita.

What I’d like to see:

  • Ability to import external strength workouts (e.g. from MacroFactor) including exercises, sets, reps, and load.
  • WHOOP should then use this data to calculate Muscular Load / Strength Strain correctly, without needing to recreate the workout inside Strength Trainer.

If you’d also benefit from this, please send a quick note to support@whoop.com or submit an in‑app feature request mentioning “external strength workout import (MacroFactor etc.)” – the more people ask for it, the higher the chance it gets prioritized. :folded_hands:

This feature would be huge. I built my own lifting tracking app and would love to get my data synced to whoop

I’ve asked directly to whoop team and they confirm it’s not yet possible to import external strenght workouts. I hope they’ll implement it soon!! :crossed_fingers:

I just did my first strength workout with my WHOOP, and I’m disappointed to see that it doesn’t sync with MacroFactor workouts as well. So far, I just got the WHOOP, so I can’t say how I feel about the other kinds of tracking, but it would be really nice if it’s synchronized with the other applications I already use, like MacroFactor workouts and MacroFactor nutrition.

They already do their part, and they sync with Google Health Connect and Apple Health. At least on Android, I know for sure that they synchronize all the exercise segments and sets, although I don’t know if they do the exercise names. Using LLMs for importing it really doesn’t seem to me to be hard (structured output in the serialized format whoop expects). I bet even haiku/flash could hand it, even if they’re in different formats. I’d really love to see this and would encourage me to go ahead and extend my membership beyond what I currently already have allocated, since it’s the one big missing piece that I see.

(Heck I’d implement it if they’d let me and bring me on as a contractor)
