I need to upgrade from 4.0 to 5.0 - Software wont let me

I am 16 years old and have a Whoop 4.0. I originally upgraded my plan to the Whoop Life Plan and got a Whoop MG. However, due to the fact that I’m not an adult, I couldn’t use the main features of the MG and Life plan. I called Whoop, and they cancelled my plan and had me return the MG. I then paid for the Whoop Peak plan and have been using it with my 4.0. I want to upgrade from the 4.0 to the 5.0 now. However, whenever I go on the website to upgrade, it says that I have the highest level of membership and cannot upgrade, so I am now stuck with my 4.0 on the Peak plan. How could I upgrade my device to the 5.0?

Try going through the app rather than the website. Since you already have the WHOOP Peak membership, you can upgrade your WHOOP 4.0 device to WHOOP 5.0 in one of two ways:

  1. Extend your membership by 12 months (or 24 months) and get the WHOOP 5.0 device included for free. This will add time to your membership billing.

  2. Pay a one-time $49 upgrade fee to get the WHOOP 5.0 device without extending your membership.

If you have 12 or more months remaining on your current membership, you may be eligible for a free upgrade to WHOOP 5.0 on Peak, which will be automatically applied during checkout.

To upgrade:

  • Open the WHOOP app.

  • Go to the More tab.

  • Tap My Account.

  • Select Membership & Billing.

  • Choose the upgrade option (membership extension or one-time fee) and complete the process.

You do not need to return your WHOOP 4.0 device to upgrade, and you are encouraged to upcycle it by giving it to a friend or family member.
