I have Life subscription, only two months old. Just upgraded from iPhone XR to iPhone 12, and it refuses to connect.
When I look at Bluetooth in the phone, it says WHOOP is connected..
But in the app - it still spins and says “connecting”. It also has a warning that there is a “Membership tiers issue” that is currently affecting a lot of membership tiers.
Do I wait and hope this is a backend issue at Whoop, or do I try something more to get my whoop app to also find my whoop wristband the way my phone so easily did?
(Let’s also assume I have followed the app suggestions of restarting the phone and app, and placing the charger on my whoop - and giving up when I cannot get it to blink blue to pair from scratch).
Thanks for sharing those details! The “Membership tiers issue” warning you see is a known backend issue affecting some memberships, which can cause the app to get stuck on “connecting” even though your iPhone shows the WHOOP device as connected via Bluetooth.
Since you’ve already tried restarting your phone and app, and attempted to pair from scratch without success, this is likely related to that backend issue.
Here are a couple of additional suggestions to try while the issue is being resolved:
Make sure your WHOOP app is updated to the latest version from the App Store.
If you haven’t already, try uninstalling and reinstalling the WHOOP app to clear any cached data.
Check your iPhone’s iOS version and update to the latest available version if possible (iOS 16 or higher is recommended for WHOOP compatibility).
