How is the menstrual cycle trend graph generated?

Maybe I just don’t get it, but my menstrual cycle graph doesn’t seem to match up with my health monitor metrics from day to day. For example - my skin temperature is +1.3 today but my cycle graph (see photo) is showing that my skin temp is still dropping. I also notice this with my recovery. I will be in the green but then the trend graph will show that my recovery is lower or vice versa. Can someone tell me what I am missing?

Also, will Whoop ever offer a “Trend View” for skin temperature? Or eventually be able to track basal body temperature? That would be extremely helpful for women trying to conceive or even just more accurately track ovulation.
Thank you!

Hi @Daynalee, thanks for the note.

The MCI cycle graphs show smoothed trends, not daily values. So even if your skin temperature is up today, the graph might still show a drop if recent days were lower. Same with recovery… you might be in the green today, but the trend reflects average values across your cycle phase.

As for tracking skin temperature… WHOOP doesn’t offer a full Trend View for skin temp at this time, but it does show a cycle-based trend in the MCI graph. Also, WHOOP doesn’t track basal body temperature (BBT) specifically. I’m going to pass on your feedback to the team though. Thanks for writing in. We aggregate all member feedback together to inform future product improvements. Thank you!
