Heart Rate readings when using Concept 2 rowerg

I regularly row on a concept 2 rower and see wild variations in my heart rate when logging data using my whoop band. Typically I’m seeing very high readings - shooting up from 150 - 170 - even when perceived effort is in the level 1 to 2 range. I have started using a Polar chest strap to see if this is an issue with the recording or if in fact my heart rate is spiking. The Polar readings read consistently in the 110 - 130 range for level 1 / 2 steady state endurance and for the same workout I see readings that can be anywhere between 20 and 50 BPM higher from my Whoop strap.

I am confident that the Polar reading is accurate and it matches with my perceived effort during the exercise.

I have not seen this issue with my Whoop HR reading during cycling or running, only when using the rower.

Is this a known issue and is there any advice on how to address this?

Interesting. I’m having the same issue on runs where the HR data spikes to 170. I’ve been training for years and never hit 170 especially when my perceived level of exertion was level 1-2. Be good to know if this is a fault with device or some Sw fix is coming
