Gym sets and strength trainer

Hi everyone,

Usually when I go to the gym I know what I want to train, but the sequence of my routine often depends on equipment availability. For example, if I’m doing arms, I may start with curls, hammers, or extensions depending on what’s free at the time. That flexibility helps me keep the workout within an hour, but I’ve been struggling to reflect that in Whoop’s Strength Trainer.

From what I’ve seen, I need to pre-populate the workout and then start it. Once I do, I can’t seem to build or adjust the workout on the go. This becomes limiting because sometimes I want to add something extra, like core work if I have the energy, or cut back if I’m feeling depleted.

Is there a way to create or modify a Strength Trainer session on the fly rather than pre-planning everything? If not, how are others working around this? I’d love for Whoop to offer that flexibility, but in the meantime I’m curious how you all manage it.

Appreciate any tips or guidance

So I have a lot of questions about strength trainer too, but this is one that I think you can manage.

You can re-order exercises by simply dragging them up and down within a workout, even after starting the workout. I’ve been tripped up a few times by not selecting the ‘new’ next set by clicking on the arrow to the right before starting the set. Otherwise even if you’ve dragged a different exercise up, it won’t start next. You have to do that manually, which is kind of frustrating.

To add a new exercise, you can do so with the plus sign - even once the workout has started - and add from the picker.
