Feature Request - Product Gamification and Ranked System

As a gamer at heart, I want the whoop to have a ranked system. So far this is my idea:

  • This will be an optional feature and can be toggled on and off for users not wanting to use it.
  • There will be an ELO system, and there will be ELO ranges corresponds to different ranks (E.g: Silver, Gold, Platinum). Rank names should might also numbers with them (E.g: Silver II, Gold I or Platinum IV).
  • There should be leaderboards based on friends list, regions, teams, age groups, etc…
  • ELO is based on balancedness of strain, recovery and sleep score. And also could be either trends or specific values of different metrics (HRV, RHR, non-activity stress level). Could be “Your ELO will increase by XYZ, if your HRV trends increase by XYZ% by the next 7 days”, or “Your ELO will increase by XYZ, if your HRV reached XYZ (ms) by the next 7 days”.
  • This feature won’t be all about strain score grinding and work out as much as possible. For the best possible chance to gain ELO, users should stay active and works out with relatively high volume for most individuals, but that isn’t everything. It’s working out hard and staying active, keeping a high strain score but still within the balanced range, but also focus on sleep and recovery. That is why strain score isn’t the only deciding factor. This is meant to be a sports performance and health enhancer, not a burn-out machine.

Further specifics will be determined, assuming if this idea ever gets considered. I would love for my WHOOP band to have this and I think it would create friendly competitiveness in users and help push one another in the right direction. However, the toggle feature adds balance as because this feature might cause unnecessary competitiveness and causes demotivation in some individuals.

This is exactly what I would NOT want. No hard feelings. I respect your suggestion of course. But friends leaderboards, in app competitiveness, pushing each other etc is absolutely NOT what I want and need. The toggle on/off feature sounds good you mentioned. Maybe you join a team or create your own?
