I love the 24/7 holistic insights Whoop is generating, but during high-intensity Box Fitness / Functional Fitness sessions with lots of fast movements with weights, Whoop 5 MG just does not catch up to the heart rate enough. Spikes in heart rate are blunted and wrist movement seems to limit the readings. Even with the bicep band, the heart rate does not compare to a proper electrical heart rate measurement technology like chest straps.
PLEASE include external heart rate broadcasting for these few occasions under high load and tension (like ANT+ or Bluetooth low energy) to make Whoop useful in high intensity, high performance conditions as well.
i second that… been a member for 3 years and i still havent found a solution to hr inacurracy during workouts… being able to add an external device during workouts such as a polar h10 chest strap would be awesome!
One great solution is using a wearable that integrates with externals lol! I hope Whoop will take this request seriously or they will lose many people who will opt for products that allow for integration with the superior technology (chest strap).
I now wear my Garmin as it connects to my Polar10. Previously I only put my Garmin on to do a walk. My Garmin shows my HR and other metrics with just a glance at it.
I took my Whoop off as I rarely have my phone with me and so immediate feedback is lacking. I now mostly wear it at night, as I like to see my sleep metrics and to compare them with my Garmin’s data.
Phew. I thought that I was just being whacko! To play guitar etc. I had to swap arms for wearing it as my HR goes crazy. HITT rebounder sessions same deal. I bought the arm band but since I swapped the band for the silicon one I struggle to get it off. I need to be able to link it to my chest HR band, but ….
My main exercises each day are the Farmer’s walk. This exercise has no distance field (I am a real farmer ). So unless you commute, sit, then hit the gym, Whoop isn’t for you.
It is okay though, as I only wanted to monitor my sleep But you think it could do a bit more than that. Unless it improves I won’t be extending my subscription.
I won’t extend my subscription either. Unless there’s a dramatic improvement. I’m a long distance triathlete and correct (or at least nearly correct) heart rate readings are crucial for me.
