Wanted to share an idea that came to me during a cycling session. Before every ride, I have to start an activity in the Whoop app, enable strain target, and stow my phone. Not the end of the world but I think there is an opportunity here.
What if when an activity is started on a Garmin device (Watch or Bike Computer), the chosen activity is immediately activated in the Whoop App. This is similar to the Beacon being enabled immediately in Strava once an activity is started on a Garmin device.
With this integration, the ability to add Whoop performance data to within Garmin activity screens would absolutely change user experience.
Example: I would add Strain Target Progression to my bike computer and Garmin watch so that I can glance at how I’m progressing during the exercise.
Another Example: When I pause/stop/save a workout on the Garmin device, the activity immediately does the same in Whoop.
Final Example: If activity is tracked using the Whoop app, that session pushes to Garmin. (Example: Zwift)
I’m sure there are MANY things missing in this feature request post that other Garmin members would find useful but these are the ones that immediately come to mind.
Your idea for syncing WHOOP start/stop with Garmin devices could make activity setup much smoother, especially with strain target activation and pause mirroring. Adding Strain Target Progression to device screens would also give quick, in-ride visibility. Interested in what other ideas members have on this topic too. We appreciate the feedback and will pass it along to our product team.
I love this. I’m currently a Garmin user. I moved off of Whoop mainly because I love the ecosystem of Garmin. I have a Fenix 8 Pro, Bike Computer, HRM-600, and the Garmin Pedals on my road bike. I miss having the little Whoop device on my arm though, especially at night or during activity. Wish they could talk to have Whoop send data to Garmin Connect.
Inwluld love to see this as well. As a runner and cycler I use garming devices and keep my whoop on for consistency. However, it is a bother the manage multiple apps. Considering using Polar but I’m hopeful of whoop
