Feature request: Edit strength workouts after logging them

I’d like to be able to edit a logged workout—you can often forget to log a set or put things out of order etc—because the process of logging these workouts right now ends up with me leaving slightly incorrect workouts logged bc you have to do the whole thing over (if you haven’t exactly duplicated a saved workout)

Hi @mudland, thank you for the note. Good idea. I know this has been discussed internally and I think it would be greatly beneficial. Timing of when we’d make this update is TBD. I appreciate you posting this, as any/all feedback like this is valuable to hear. Ty!

soooo.. can the whoop people (@Durkin) please more seriously look into supporting this, it’s a incredibly frustrating issue, and can’t be that uncommon it gets no attention, as i’m sure it’s way too easy to fall into for any strenght-training-feature-utilizing user!

my example, i did/was logging a strength training session yesterday and i had an urgent work call interrupt me.. i didn’t end up realizing my strength training session was “still going” until this morning. i ended the session, realized my app was “out of sync” (data lagged behind, something i also suffer from on occasion).. waited a few hours, went back to start a new strength training session for TODAY only to see it thinks i haven’t slept..

the reason? oh because you can’t have overlapping activity, and whoop thinks i’ve been strength training for the last 16ish hours (trust me, i’m no where jacked enough for be able to survive such a session)

no problem, let me fix the strength training session yesterday to say when i ACTUALLY wrapped up for the day..

oh wait, YOU CAN’T EDIT STRENGTH TRAINING, when i go to the session and see those three dots? only option there is DELETE !!!

and since you can’t have overlapping activities, it means i now have the damn “add sleep” button instead of having the sleep correctly detected like it usually does..

so my options now? Delete the workout and lose ALL the data (no thanks :-1:), or not have any sleep and thus no recovery logged (no thanks :-1:)

what a giant pain! :face_with_steam_from_nose:

come on WHOOP! this isn’t hard to allow your endpoint to accept a PUT request for making modifications on the backend via your API ---- look i work in tech, and i don’t really see any reason to STILL not support this (at least from a technical point of view, it’s ideally 5 minutes of coding/adjustment work, maybe a minor database schema change, and maybe a few more hours of automated testing if you have a modern stack).

Oh so i contacted support (before i posted the above), and now received the lovely automated AI-generated response:

Hi there,

I’m sorry for the hassle with yesterday’s Strength Training session and the missing Sleep. Let’s get everything lined up so both your workout and your night’s rest are reflected accurately.

What’s happening
WHOOP won’t allow a Sleep to be saved if an activity overlaps the same time period. Since that Strength Training session currently spans the night, the app is blocking your Sleep entry and hiding your Recovery.

How to fix it – Option 1: Edit the activity
1. Open the WHOOP app and navigate to the Overview (the main feed).
2. Tap the Strength Training session in question.
3. On the upper-right corner of the activity details screen, tap the three-dot menu (⋯) or the pencil icon, then choose Edit.
4. Adjust the END time to when the workout actually finished yesterday.
5. Tap Save.

So either your AI system is trolling me (explaining what i already know, and then telling me to do something that isn’t possible :man_facepalming:), or just perhaps this is being worked on?

I’d really like to believe it’s the latter

…but feel it’s probably more likely the former :joy:
