When I use “Broadcast HR” and my Garmin 1040 I get problems on both sides of the pairing.
I add Whoop as a sensor from the Garmin side. It usually connects with a device ID (e.g. 123456) then it shows “Whoop 5” or something like that. HR shows up on the display fine. This worked in 4.0 and early 5/MG.
But with early 5/MG, when the ride was done and the garmin powered down or at least out of range, whoop would remain disconnected until I noticed (usually at bedtime) and I had to go through the whole forget-pair-reconnect-download cycle. Every day.
Now, when the ride starts the garmin with constantly flip flop with do you want to connect (I think between the 2 labels. It goes so fast that you cannot actually answer the questions fast enough to change settings on the garmin. Usually this happens as the group rolls out, so I have to spend the first 5 mins of the group ride chasing while rebooting, disabling broadcast on my phone, and restarting the ride with no HR.
Is anyone else having problems using 5/mg with a garmin? I commute on my bike as well as ride and really need whoop to handle this simple scenario.
