When pairing my 5.0 band to my Wahoo ELEMNT Bolt v1 the Whoop shows up as “heartrate” using ANT+ protocol and does not show any heart rate data. My 4.0 band worked with the ELEMNT Bolt so it seems like something is broken with the 5.0. Has anyone gotten this combination to work together or have an idea of what to try? The Whoop FAQ indicates the 5.0 doesn’t even support ANT+ so I don’t know why it’s not showing up as a Bluetooth sensor on the ELEMNT.
Hey there @petermania - thanks for the post and sorry for the friction here.
I’m flagging this to our PM who supports HR Broadcast and third party integrations now to see what specifics they have on the Wahoo ELEMNT Bolt v1 and WHOOP 5.0. Going to get them to jump in here and figure out what’s going on.
I have MG and I paired with my Element Bolt V2 without any issues. I used it even yesterday so for sure it works. Both Wahoo and Whopp has the latest FW.
I recall this working with my 4.0 band. I’ll try some more troubleshooting tonight or tomorrow and see if I can get it working. Maybe even reverting to the 4.0 band.
Same here, Whoop 5 MG wont connect to Wahoo and shows as Ant+. This is in fact the second device whoop has sent me and it doesn’t solve this. @evanatwhoop you said earlier on the thread you will check back with response. It’s been a month, any news on this bug?
I did some testing this morning. Using my older Whoop 4.0 fixes the problem and the sensor shows up as BLE as it should. The 5.0 showing up as ANT is a curious problem since it doesn’t support that protocol.
I’m reverting to my 4.0 band since this is an important feature for me - plus my band selection is better. I’ll watch this thread for an update from @evanatwhoop so I know when to retry the 5.0.
Funny enough, I asked the AI Assistant on support.whoop.com and it told me to use the 4.0 band since the 5.0 isn’t working. I assume the new product works for most people but I won’t renew my membership since I don’t see a path forward with the 5.0 hardware.
My wahoo roam v3 is having the same problem. Even when my WHOOP 5.0 is paired to my wahoo in the WAHOO app it shows ‘connected’ however, on the head unit (WAHOO) it is ‘searching’ for the "‘Heartrate’ sensor displaying network as “ANT+”. Is there a fix for this besides switching back to a whoop 4.0? any help would be appreciated.
I wouldn’t even bother using the Whoop band as a heart rate monitor with your bike computer. I used my Whoop MG with my Garmin 1050 edge and it’s not accurate at all. You might as well purchase a heart rate monitor. WHOOP has yet to resolve this heart rate tracking issue, IF this is something they can even resolve.
