I am starting to get concerned about my Blood Pressure insights. 4 days in a row I had a much higher HRV, just about double the normal. Not sure why it would change so much but there you go, whoop seems to have no consistency anywhere.
But what I have noticed is the daily range is a lot higher on these days, I am still in the green just but a lot higher. Today my HRV dropped back to its normal range and interestingly so did my BP range. Coincidence or does whoop use HRV as a metric for BP insights. This has to be a worry since HRV seems really inaccurate.
Can I just have one day where whoop does everything right so I can start to trust what I am reading.
Honestly blood pressure is just another useless and unreliable metric. It just repeats cuff readings. When I calibrate it again Whoop shows this blood pressure until I calibrate again.
This is my experience. I’m already super frustrated . My today’s 100 minutes run had an average hr of 159 (chest strap 137) and a high of 204 (chest strap 154). I’m close to 55 years old and no way my hr goes to 204. I’m also not running a zone 2 workout of 100 minutes with an average hr of 159.
Coming back to blood pressure: It’s beta yes but it should at least do a bit of what is promised and not just repeat cuff readings.
Yeah the 200bpm for me at 64 yesterday is really not achievable. But couple it with 45mins out of the 90mins in Zone 5 whilst on a tempo ride is simply impossible.
Oura and Garmin sometimes tell me things I am a little surprised about but the key factor is when they do tell me I trust the results. I have absolutely no trust in anything Whoop is saying at this time. Moving to Bicep I thought was when I started to see consistent results. But yesterday’s ride just destroyed that.
HRV on the Whoop was so different to my Polar h10 chest strap that I stopped paying attention.
You’re absolutely right regarding the “blood pressure readings” on Whoop. It just repeats what your last cuff reading was, and sometimes fluctuates it up and down by a digit or two. Blood pressure changes massively throughout the day based on exertion, rest, digestion, stress. Whoop states the same blood pressure estimate all day long.
It’s snake oil. Save your money.
My blood pressure insights are blank. It doesn’t even display what I manually input. So so frustrated with this device. And they only offer a cancellation in the first 30 days - but “It’s still learning you - give it time” and I fell for that until the window was up.
