Hi there,
looks like I am unable to find that info on the Website. So what is the backside of the Whoop 5.0 made of? The part that gets in contact with the skin?
Seems like after several years I developed now an allergy against my current wearable and consider to give Whoop another chance.
My old 3.0 looks like it is plastic around the sensor, which is most likely fine, but how is it with the new Whoop?
And what is the return policy in case I might show the same symptoms to the Whoop as well?
Thanks
Hi @fguentner, thanks for the question.
The part of the WHOOP 5.0 sensor that touches your skin is made of medical-grade plastics and metals, specifically:
- Titanium contacts (touching the skin, chosen for being hypoallergenic)
- Aluminum clasp
Both materials are selected for long-term durability and minimal irritation. WHOOP bands come in a variety of materials (like SuperKnit, silicone, and others), so you can pick what feels best for your skin. Compared to WHOOP 3.0, the 5.0 adds a bit more polish and comfort but keeps to hypoallergenic principles.
Allergy Note: Most people with metal sensitivities do well with WHOOP. However, if you have a history of skin reactions to wearables, it’s smart to monitor your skin closely for any irritation when you try the new device.
Return Policy: WHOOP offers returns on devices and bands within 30 days of delivery if you find you experience any skin sensitivity or allergy symptoms. Just make sure the item is in its original condition if you do need to return it.
Hope this helps!
