Decide to take a 40 minute power nap. Whoop didn’t detect it so I manually entered and still doesn’t recognize a nap. Anyone get MG to auto detect or get it to work when manually entered?
A competitor worked fine, missed 3 mins but very acceptable.

What’s very strange and never noticed this before but I can not see my HR throughout the day. This seems a big miss on Whoops part. Am I missing something or is there no way to see your HR through the day other than Exercise or Sleep?
Gap is when I was charging my Garmin.
Ah Thanks! I remember now that you can turn to landscape and it will display. Unfortunately I am testing iOS26 for my company and it doesn’t work. Completely forgot.. Thanks again
The nap needs to be longer than an hour to be auto detected
A nap has never been detected for me. Even it was (much longer) than 1 hour.
Same here. The iOS 26 beta definitely broke the formatting on the daily HR graph. I submitted a support ticket as well, and it’s already been escalated so it looks like Whoop is aware of the issue. Hopefully a fix is on the way soon. I’ve also seen similar UI glitches in other apps since updating to iOS 26, so it seems like this beta release is causing broader formatting problems across multiple platforms.
I’ve run into this too, so I asked Whoop Coach why naps sometimes aren’t detected even when they’re longer than an hour. By design, naps over an hour should auto-detect, but things like strap fit, movement during the nap, or environmental disruptions can prevent the data from being clear enough to classify.
The nice part is that Whoop lets you manually add naps or activities afterward, and it will process all the metrics and data the same way as if it had auto-detected them. So even if it misses one here or there, you still get the full benefit of tracking.
Naps are supposed to be short duration, 40 mins is probably too long. I read they are best around 20 mins. Interesting that Whoop feels it should be over an hour. That doesn’t strike me as a nap but as a sleep. But yes whoop does allow me to enter the nap manually but as you can see from the first image it collected no data. Very puzzling. I do not hap often so not a big deal for me but I bet there are plenty of people that do.
Yeah I agree that a nap normally is a short time affair. Sometimes when I’m really tired from training after intense long sessions I take naps of about 90 minutes or so. But I agree this would be classified more as sleep than a nap. Nevertheless Whoop never detected a nap for me. Not even on Whoop 4. So it’s not a “young” problem . I always add any sleep like activities manually
Do you see you data when you manually add or it it just a place holder for 40 mins of nap time? I would assume without data it can’t use in recovery or sleep debt.
Definitely strange yes
For me the competitor Helio Strap on bicep is working like a charm. Finally HR and calories are in a logical area!
I wear the Helio on my wrist and find it picks up HR perfect there as well.
Amazfit has released in the meantime a bicep band for just something around 15eur here in europe. So if you want a much more precise HR, you could try it out. And the quality of that bicep band is also not that bad. I like that band.
I have one but not from amazfit
Good news. I might try Helio Strap
