This is unusable for intervals. On my garmin chest strap I’m sitting at 170 to 174 bpm and my whoop switches between resting and 170bpm then back to 90bpm. It’s unusable and beyond annoying. This is with the bicep band, bicep strap, and wrist strap. All locations fail and all are installed per whoop instructions. Allow me to input hr manually or use a reliable heart rate monitor please. This is just ridiculous.

Don’t say this on Reddit you’ll be crucified. 
Allowing external HR device during activity or allow import of HR from an external device is 100% the right way to go. But the second Whoop agree to this is, the second they admit their device is not very good. I have been fighting with them for 6 months about this. Hopefully they will eventually listen!

I really want to love my whoop and your input helps give voice to the people struggling with it. Thank you! It’s just so frustrating to be upset during a workout because a tracker isn’t working the way it should and it’s so reliably unreliable that I have to use other straps. I ran a Hyrox with my Whoop and a chest strap because I knew I couldn’t count on the Whoop to be there when I needed data. I looked like the bionic man. Really wish we could get this sorted and either allow third party sensors as you’ve mentioned or configure a reliable chest strap solution with the existing sensor. Heck, I’d even be willing to pay more for a whoop branded chest strap. Anything to get actual data instead of the garbage.

I have been saying this for close to 6 months. It’s such a shame that Whoop is not listening. I am already connected to Garmin, and they know when I cycle. They use the data to determine an activity. This is why they are so accurate, sort of cheating to be honest. If they know I posted a ride on Garmin then they know the time frame I did it. It would be such a simple fix, “Hey I saw you did an activity on Garmin, what HR would you like me to use” Garmin yes please
