Is the coreknit wrist band for the 5.0 compatible with the MG device?

Hi @waylonian, thanks for the question. WHOOP 5.0 bands will physically fit on an MG device but do not support ECG functionality.

  • MG-specific bands have a special scalloped clasp and conductive coating required for taking ECG readings.
  • Using a 5.0 band on an MG device will disable ECG, but the device will still accurately track strain, sleep, and recovery.

Thanks. Just some community feedback, if possible to bring to the MG, I loved the material of the core/hydro band for people like myself that workout/sweat often. I know you have the new rubber ones, but honestly those are not practical (to change bands everyday), and are not the most aesthetically pleasing for everyday wear.

I think this follows from your reply, but I want to ask explicitly: will a MG band on a 5.0 device work properly? If the physical fit is the same, I would assume it would. I didn’t see this answered in the linked article, but based on the fact that the 5.0 band/MG device is discouraged in multiple places, I am guessing that MG band/5.0 device will not have a problem.

I have a Whoop 5.0 and just bought a SportFlex band which is shown on the website as compatible. I can easily attach the band to the U-shaped latch end of the device easily but the fixed end doesn’t fit and I can’t figure out how to solve that. None of the videos I’ve watched address this specific problem and I’m at a loss. What am I missing?
