Hello Whoop team,
I am finding that the calorie estimates from Whoop 5.0 are extraordinarily low. I did a spot check on a couple of days and I consume around TWICE the number of total calories that Whoop estimates in order to maintain my weight (53kg).
Thankfully I have enough nutritional insight to realise the whoop numbers are very wrong and to trust my body, because if I used the Whoop estimates as a guide I would rapidly lose weight and be quite ill. As someone who used to have to have a restrictive eating disorder I really worry about the impact of such woefully low numbers on anyone using these numbers as a guide. Perhaps the BMR calculation needs more nuance in the algorithm but I would personally prefer to see the calorie estimates removed until they can be made more reasonable for people with low to low-normal weight, who might be at more immediate risk from health problems from under-eating. No data seems less dangerous than extremely inaccurate data but that just my two cents.
