WHOOP MG clasp rattle & slight side-to-side play — normal or defective?

Hi everyone,

I just received my new WHOOP MG and wanted to see if other MG owners are experiencing the same thing.

Before putting the band on, the clasp has a fairly noticeable rattle when I shake or move it.

Once I’m wearing it, the clasp stays securely closed and doesn’t appear to come loose. However:

  • The metal piece with the “W” logo has a tiny amount of left-to-right play (probably less than 1 mm).
  • If I tap the clasp while wearing it, I can hear a slight rattling sound.
  • Occasionally I think I can hear a faint rattle during normal wear as well.

Functionally everything seems to work fine, but after spending this much on a Life subscription, I wasn’t expecting the clasp to have any movement or rattling.

Can other WHOOP MG owners check theirs and let me know if this is normal, or if yours is completely solid with no movement?

Just got mine too. Mine is very very loose when sliid on, but OK when locked in. Also thought it was a defect. Not sure.

I also think it’s a defect. I’ve heard from a few other MG users that the clasp is solid. Currently working with membership services/support to get the band replaced. If you’re a Life member, you get priority phone support so maybe give them a ring today to get the process started.
