Whoop Coach AI is Getting Worse

Has anyone else noticed that Whoop Coach 6.1 is getting worse than the older beta version. I recently did a 41 min stairmaster session and it came back with garbage it actually thought is was 41 hours see attached. It looks like a robot on over load. This is not the first time it has done something like this, it get hung up on old data even when you tell it things have changed.

Same here. I was accused of having a three-hour sleep deficit, even though I’d only had a few minutes’ sleep. The new coaching style is so geared towards finding problems that, when in doubt, it simply makes them

I’m find it gives recommendations that are non-correlated with the time, e.g. regurgitating an activity or behaviour from 24hrs ago to recommend a morning workout in the evening, or completely ignoring what has been done in the last 24hrs when making a recommendation.

I find it so frustrating. I constantly keep having to repeat the same information EVERY SINGLE DAY! I’m not going to renew my membership if it doesn’t vastly improve.I am starting to not trust the data, which makes wearing the device completely pointless.

I prepaid for a few years unfortunately, I canceled my membership already so it will not renew. I am not sure it will ever get better, when I sent that screen shot to customer service they replied to an older email in the thread, just like Whoop coach, they are all stuck in the past and can’t let things go. LOL

Yeah I stopped using the AI - I have been coping and pasting my workout data into google gemini - if I want a breakdown. I do not trust the whoop AI or what it says.

The coach is currently taking things too far; he’s becoming judgemental and mean – at least, that’s how I see it:

I’m right on track with my half-marathon training and had completed a 17-kilometre run the day before. The next day, the coach said – roughly translated from German: “Well, your half-marathon training isn’t intensive enough, and 13,000 steps the day after won’t really boost your endurance either”

It also says there that I was below my strain limit on 5 out of 7 days – but that’s a blatant lie.
I don’t know… At first, I was annoyed and frustrated by this focus on deficits. Now I’m furious and honestly wonder how a so-called premium AI company like WHOOP can spout such rubbish.

Yeah the coach can get a little out of control. If I stay up late because I am at a social event it get all like I am not keeping to my routine. I told it there is also time to socialize that is mental health. It just apologizes but keep saying then same thing every time. I am older 62 and it keep telling me my vo2 max need plant be higher. I do a lot of cardio and weight training and it will tell me that all that is good and regular cardio is good but get hung up vo2 max even though I told the coach it was not a priority. I gave up and stopped interacting with it and started using the Google AI when I have questions, I just upload my whoop data to it. It’s much better then the whoop ai so I guess at this point I paying for a very expensive tracker.

Yes, the coach seems to be designed in such a way that it HAS to find shortcomings – and if in doubt, it simply conjures some up. You could run a marathon every day, and the coach would still write in the evening: ‘Not enough!!!’

That’s rather poor for a company that positions itself as a premium provider and claims that its coaching is personalised. An Apple Watch 12 is looking more and more appealing to me

Yes, I have also had problems with it. It is often inaccurate. If I continue to interact in order to correct inaccuracies, it may agree with me, but nothing changes. Next time it may make similar mistakes. It seems to have a negative attitude in general. It also will remember trivia about me to sprinkle through our conversations, but important things (like when we agree to proceed differently, or I take up its offer to do something for me) it simply forgets. I have also noticed that conversations in the aging estimator section are not being saved. What coach told me is saved, but any additional discussion is simply gone. I had decided to just ignore it, but since it pops up everywhere now, I am finding that difficult. I keep getting sucked back in.

Yes, I’m slowly starting to think that the app was designed to belittle people and demotivate them. Today, in the daily summary, the coach claimed that 6 out of 7 days were below my strain threshold – which is quite simply a blatant lie.

When I confront the coach about it, he even admits it. I find that really alarming … the coach is a know-it-all and overbearing, but no longer offers any meaningful help.

Yeah I had the same issue with the coach - I kept telling the coach it was wrong and it told me to stop complaining lol. The coach was better in beta the version that is not beta is worse. When I emailed support they had a canned answer that it was still in beta, but if you look at the screenshot I sent them it said V6.1 and no mention of beta. I think they over promised what they can do.

Yes, WHOOP has clearly overpromised; the Coach is definitely just a marketing gimmick. It’s telling that AI coaches from free apps like Bevel naturally offer a variety of AI styles, whilst WHOOP isn’t capable of anything like that.

I hope enough people complain about the Coach and that WHOOP takes action on this

I have had similar problems. Coach not remembering. Getting info wrong. Saying I was correct to flag it but not improving. I was very excited to have the coach at the beginning but now it’s getting annoying.
It’s getting worse at basic details.

However it does seem to be good at general support. My mum passed away recently and it was surprisingly helpful and supportive. Like a counsellor.
