Unlock Strength Trainer Potential 2.0

I’m very happy to see that a lot has shipped since my original post, especially now that WHOOP Coach has been integrated.

With that in mind, I think there are a few more areas worth improving:

1) Strength Plans

Instead of needing to prompt the AI to create every individual workout, I would love the ability to set up a strength plan in advance, or use an existing weekly plan as a baseline. From there, WHOOP Coach could proactively generate workouts for my scheduled training days.

For example, if I train Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, the system could automatically prepare the next workout based on my plan, recovery, recent sessions, and longer-term goals.

2) More coherent strength progression

My expectation would be that WHOOP Coach reviews my recent workouts, performance trends, recovery, and training history before determining the next workout. It does this to some extent now, but it seems to work most reliably only when explicitly prompted.

Ideally, this context would be gathered automatically so that each new workout feels connected to the previous ones, rather than like a standalone AI-generated session. This also ties directly into the strength plan feature above.

3) More intelligent workout variation and long-term progression

I would also like to see more thoughtful variation in the workouts WHOOP Coach creates. Right now, it can sometimes over-index on previous workouts or loaded templates, which means it often recreates something very similar unless I specifically ask for variety.

That consistency is useful because I do want it to follow my general workout structure. But over time, I would also appreciate it gradually introducing new exercises, rep schemes, and progression styles.

This could work especially well as part of a longer-term plan. For example, a plan might start with an 8-rep hypertrophy focus, later shift into a 4–6 rep strength phase, then add a deload week. I don’t think the AI will reliably do that on its own without some built-in plan structures. A strong approach might be to provide predefined training frameworks, while allowing the AI to fill in the details based on the user’s training days, recovery, history, preferences, and available equipment.

Overall, the big improvement I’m looking for is for strength training to feel less like isolated workout generation and more like an adaptive, coherent training plan that progresses over time.
